History: The 1959 Arizona Wildcats were led by legendary Coach Frank Sancet. Sancet coached the Cats for 22 seasons compiling 831 victories against 282 defeats and 8 ties from 1950 - 1972. Under his helm, the Wildcats reached the College World Series 9 times but never won the coveted title. They were runners up 3 times including the 1959 season. To date, the Wildcats have won 4 CWS titles (1976, 1980, 1986, 2012). Before moving to Corbett field in 2012, where the current Wildcats play, their home venue was Jerry Kindall Field at Frank Sancet Stadium named after the HOF Coach.
